As brands begin sending out their spring and summer shipments many consumers are attempting to look forward to what’s next. Well look no further, the next big trend for this spring is colored denim. No, not colored denim as we last saw it from cross colors in the early nineties, but something a little more refined. Think Maurice Malone meets Marc Jacobs. By colored denim I do not mean new hues of the blues and blacks we have grown accustomed to. Think vibrant colors ranging from olives to fluorescent yellows. This spring and summer expect to see a very wide variety of brands giving their interpretation of how colored denim should be done. Companies ranging from cult denim brand “Cheap Monday” to lifestyle brand “Five Four” and even streetwear brands such as “Orisue” are including colored denim in their upcoming collections. This drastic change in denim should give a much needed jolt in a very oversaturated market and already has the summer looking bright, literally and figuratively.
